In recent years, migration has become a rapidly increasing phenomenon on a global scale and has had profound effects on many social, economic and political areas, both domestically and internationally. Factors such as wars, natural disasters, economic crises and climate change cause millions of people to move in search of a better life. In this context, migration creates various opportunities and challenges not only for migrants but also for countries that send and receive migrants.

Mülkiye Migration Research Center (MÜGAM) is a center that conducts interdisciplinary research in the field of migration within the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University. MÜGAM analyzes migration movements in Turkey and around the world and examines socio-economic, cultural and political effects. In line with these studies, it leads academic research, seminars, conferences and publications. While producing solutions on migration through national and international collaborations, it contributes to the training of experts in the field with certificate programs for students. It produces reports and recommendations for the shaping of migration policies.
